Согласен, надо писать правильно, но меня интересует грамматическое решение. Как в данном случае сказать "разделять"

Johny, yes, I know that corn has grains, too I only wanted to say that while Americans use the word "corn" (which basically means "grain") to denote maize, in Russian it is impossible to say "separate grain from millet". Is millet not a grain, too?
I strongly suspect that the OP meant wheat grain.
