The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is the world’s highest plateau, averaging over 4000 metres above sea level and covering an area of 200,000 square kilometres.

中国是世界上高原湖泊最多的国家。在中国青藏高原上，超过海拔4000米的高原湖泊很多。例如：海拔4718米的纳木湖，4960米的曼特喀木湖, 5465米的霍尔泊湖等。

China boasts the world’s largest number of lakes on plateaux. On the Qinhai-Tibet Plateau, there are numerous lakes over 4000 meters above sea level, including Lake Namco (4718 meters above sea level), Lake Montcalm (4960 meters above sea level), and Lake Huoerpa (5465 meters above sea level).

世界最大的黄土高原，位于中国内蒙古高原以南，包括山西省全部和陕西、甘肃、宁夏回族自治区的一部分，面积约60万平方公里，海拔在1，000至2，000米。

Located to the south of China’s Inner-Mongolia Plateau is the world’s largest loess plateau， traversing the entire territory of Shanxi Province， part of Shaanxi and Gansu Provinces， and the Ningxia Hui Nationality Autonomous Region. It covers an area of approximately 600,000 square kilometers and rises 1,000 to 2,000 meters above sea level.
